Jali Necklace by Van Gelder

A sleek and solid 18k gold long chain of linked tubular elements, flowing from slim to bigger to slimming down again, waving around, creating a long flexible chain. Each individual element has a decor of minimalist granulation, creating a wave like pattern twisting around the chain. The chain has two separate locks to vary in length.

Jali is the term for perforated stone or latticed screen, usually with an ornamental pattern constructed through the use of calligraphy and geometry. The designs also have strong and intriguing visual structures while mesmerizing the eye from different angles. This shielding screen inspired us to create jewelry that is strong yet delicate in appearance, inviting to wear and to touch, and to take a closer look!
