Calista West is looking to hire a seasonal (April-October) Sales Support Stylist. This role asks that you are knowledgeable about the fine jewelry industry, with a specific focus on diamonds and gemstones. You have prior successful sales experience, and enjoy building relationships and making memorable connections with clients. You do this through your natural aptitude for placing others at ease through your communication and presentation. This care translates well into a particular attention to detail and organization that helps to maintain client information, sales records, inventory intake, loss prevention, shipments, and the aesthetic of the store. Day to day you will be asked to be in person at our store location, tending to customers, sales inquiries, and store operations. With this requirement you will be asked to deeply understand the brand aesthetic and be able represent it appropriately. 

Personally, you interface easily with many different types of people, take pride in beautiful curation, and are a team player with a can do attitude, who remains calm and solution oriented in the face of conflict. Additionally, you are efficient with the tasks in front of you, and adaptable to what is needed on any particular day.

Logistically, this role asks you live or relocate to Nantucket, MA for the Summer season (May-September). There is potential for growing within the role to a full time basis and will be considered on a case by case basis. Compensation considerations include, commission, bonus, and benefits. Salary will be based on your experience and expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Generate sales through effective client building and experience
  • Ensure that inventory of items from clients, vendors, gem labs are recorded accurately.
  • Sort and organize inventory, orders, and shipments 
  • Ensure all orders are delivered on time
  • Check incoming and outgoing orders to/from vendors
  • Implement business policies
  • Place special orders for stock and clients
  • Processes repairs for clients and stock items 
  • Ensure that all shipments incoming and outgoing are properly packaged and on time
  • Organize and maintain paper and electronic documents and certificates
  • Communicate orders with messenger to pick up/drop off pieces as needed
  • Represent the store experience and available inventory of the store via social media, and generate sales on this platform when appropriate and needed
  • Achieve an environment for our clients that is reflective of the Calista West aesthetic and company values
  • Close sales both in store and online
  • Maintain continuous and effective communication with client through sales cycle
  • Maintain all customer information in an organized manner
  • Maintain a high level of awareness and concern for inventory control and loss prevention
  • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals

    About You

    • Ability to read and interpret orders and product inquiries
    • Clear communication skills
    • Must be highly organized, proactive, and ability to prioritize
    • Understands working in a fast-paced environment with ability to multi-task without sacrificing details or quality of work
    • Team player, can-do attitude, no task too small - assists and supports colleagues as needed, willing to jump into other areas of the business to aid when needed
    • Professional selling skills and exceptional interpersonal skills - understand fundamentals of how to sell and adapts style depending on the client’s demeanor
    • Very knowledgeable in diamonds and fine jewelry
    • Highly adaptable
    • Must be highly organized, proactive, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

    Requirements 

    • Proven sales record
    • Minimum 3 years experience in fine jewelry required
    • GIA Graduate Gemologist degree preferred
    • Resourceful/fast learner with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
    • Be organized with rigorous attention to detail
    • Have strong problem-solving skills
    • Have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficient in data entry - must be able to conduct, interpret, and utilize data accurately and appropriately
    • Social media familiarity and ability to take a well appointed photo
    • Must be proficient with Mac computers, and Google Suite

    Details

    • $5000 sign-on bonus
    • Must be available April 15-Oct 15 (flexible start/end dates) with potential for year round for the right candidate + full benefits with year round employment
    • Available to work M-F and on weekends
    • Flexible hours with some WFH available during the off season (Jan - April)

    • The hourly rate of this position is predicated on experience and is to be discussed. A sales commission will be added to your hourly rate.
